HIARCS is a highly acclaimed chess program, having won multiple World Championships. It is also unique in that it is the only handheld chess program to have defeated Grandmasters in matches and tournaments. Notably, it has twice emerged victorious in the Mercusor Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina, achieving an impressive performance rating of 2900 Elo, the highest ever recorded for any handheld device.
